JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Infrastructure, Cloud & Security (EI&C), the IT Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring the IT security Posture of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is comprehensive, up to date, robust, regularly tested and monitored. In addition to supporting the Manager, EI&C with security planning, this role requires a deep and broad technical and hands-on background in configuring, implementing, managing and monitoring a wide range of IT security solutions.
Ensuring IT security best practices are documented and followed, and CCS’ user community is well coached and provided with an IT security awareness program, all whilst continually assessing and improving CCS’ nationwide IT security posture, will be key to the success of this role.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Partner with IT colleagues including the Cloud Technologies (CT), Enterprise Infrastructure, Service desk, and Cybersecurity Team to support ongoing assessments and prioritization of CCS’ IT security solutions, plans and deliverables aligned with the overall CCS IT Security Posture and Strategic Direction.

Develop an effective partnership with the Data Analytics and Solutions team to ensure CCS projects and initiatives are aligned to the developing CCS IT Security Posture and Strategic direction.

Ensure that IT security solutions are updated, tested, well supported and monitored (including daily checks). Ensure, that, if/when there are security alerts and flags, they are promptly acted upon and appropriate remedial action is taken.

Ensure the latest cybersecurity threats are actively monitored and researched and appropriate action (e.g.: remedial, solution upgrades etc.) is promptly taken.

Assess the latest IT security technologies and trends and their applicability to CCS.

Update, document and maintain IT security best practices, policies and solutions.

Develop and implement a comprehensive IT security awareness program that will measure and report KPIs to confirm the continuous improvement of CCS users.

Accountable for on-going IT Security reporting (KPI benchmarking & analyzing, threats detected and quarantined etc.) and the maintenance of IT security hardware and software and follow best practices (e.g.: Change Control).

Work in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations and review and complies with the Health and Safety Policy of CCS.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing, implementing, managing, and monitoring IT security solutions in a complex, nationwide environment.

A technology or business-related university degree with equivalent experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Broad and deep knowledge of various Cisco products and solutions, including Firewalls (NGFWs), email content and Spam filtering (CES), Web filtering (Cisco Umbrella), secure remote access solutions (VPN, SSO & MFA), end-point patch management, SIEM, SOC, DMZs, anti-virus, pen tests and vulnerability assessments and securing O365 internally and externally.

Exposure to and understanding of; IT security solutions and trends including IPS/IDS, NAC, incident response plan development, endpoint encryption, cloud security, CASB, ethical hacking and mobile device security solutions.

Significant knowledge of; Microsoft products and platforms including Active Directory, Azure and Office365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Windows Server, WSUS, VMware, monitoring software (e.g.: SolarWinds), VLANs, Cisco, and backup and recovery technologies.

An ability to conduct and direct research into IT security threats, issues & solutions as required.

Results-oriented with proven analytical, evaluative, problem-solving & strong follow-through abilities.

Attention to detail and a proven ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, adhere to CCS procedures consistently and accurately.

ITIL Service Delivery qualification is desirable.

PCI-DSS/PHIPA/PIPEDA compliance experience is desirable.
