Netnumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Network System Engineer. This is an exciting role within the netnumber Global Support team focusing on supporting existing and new infrastructure. The candidate will oversee and assist with deploying, monitoring and supporting netnumber infrastructure and software applications. The candidate will provide leadership for best practices, automation, and optimizations for the infrastructure. The candidate will work closely with architects, software engineers, network engineers, data engineers and operations/support engineers. This is a hands-on, fast paced and is customer focused position.


Job description:

  • Provides superior customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Provides complete resolution to customers’ issues.
  • Processes customer cases in a timely fashion adhering to service level agreements.
  • Supports customers by handling and documenting incidents and service requests.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and organizational security policies.
  • Leads or participates in network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Engages in planning, design, implementation, administration and support activities for infrastructure technologies and integrations.
  • Creates, expands and maintains professional and productive working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and fosters a spirit of Teamwork in the workplace.
  • Participates with other stakeholders to perform regular cybersecurity functions, including review, discussion, and remediation of alerts, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Communicates unresolved or highly visible issues to senior management.
  • Ability to organize and drive own daily activities based on both broad and specific directives, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Creates and participates in Root Cause Analysis
  • Creates and participates in method and procedures (MOP)
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Participates in a paid 24/7 on-call schedule within the department.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on complex and large-scale networks.
  • Relative industry experience or a BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Proven experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
  • Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, DHCP).
  • In depth knowledge in scripting (e.g., python, bash)
  • In depth knowledge of Terminal/CLI
  • Extensive experience with network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and others.
  • Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
