The Role:
Secure Sense is currently looking for a skilled Network and Firewall Analyst/Fortinet Specialist to join our growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position with flexible hours. The Network and Firewall SOC Tier 2 will have significant responsibility for maintaining the daily network/firewall activities.

I’m in, what should I expect?
Candidates should be excited to take the lead in all network and firewall tasks such as installation, configuration, maintenance, support and optimization of networks and firewall devices. The successful applicant is one that places customer needs first, excels in communication (both written and verbal) and has the ability to resolve complex service interruptions.
Are you a self-starter that takes the initiative to improve processes and strategies? Can you work under pressure solving technical issues quickly and independently all while doing it with a smile?

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to, the following:
- Developing and following practices and procedures to maintain firewalls and networking equipment
- Guiding less experienced individuals through network and firewall troubleshooting
- Analyzing firewall and network activity logs for anomalous behaviour
- The position requires availability for nights and weekends
- Escalation point for less experienced SOC members
What you bring to the team:
- College degree and/or IT Diploma or 4 years on equivalent experience
- Networking and Firewall experience is mandatory
- Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint or any other NGFW administration and reporting experience required
- Strong troubleshooting skills mandatory
- An understanding of L2/L3 networking
- An understanding of basic routing protocols
- Comfortable working in groups or alone
- Comfortable working with virtualized technologies
- Ability to work flexible hours required
- Systems administration skill sets are an asset (Windows, Active Directory, Linux)
- Programming experience in python, ruby, or other scripting language an asset
- CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+, or equivalent certifications are an asset
Great-to-haves
- High level of organization
- Willingness and drive to learn new/different technologies
- Experience developing reports using SQL is an asset
- Bilingual French/English an asset
