Are you an experienced IT professional with a strong background in networking, routers, and advanced system configurations? We’re looking for a highly skilled IT & Networking Technician to join our team and support residential and commercial projects in Ottawa and the surrounding areas.
About the Role:
As an IT & Networking Technician with Concept HT and Security, you’ll play a key role in designing, installing, and managing robust network infrastructures, ensuring seamless connectivity and system integration. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Network Setup & Configuration: Installing, configuring, and managing routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and structured cabling for high-performance networks.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving network and system connectivity issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring cybersecurity best practices.
- Commercial & Residential IT Solutions: Implementing and supporting wired and wireless networks for businesses and homes, including VLANs, subnets, and remote management.
- System Integration: Configuring IT systems with smart home platforms, VoIP solutions, and security systems where needed.
- Technical Documentation: Maintaining clear records of network configurations, IP addressing schemes, and troubleshooting steps for ongoing support.
- Client Collaboration: Working directly with customers to assess IT needs, provide expert recommendations, and deliver tailored solutions.
Who We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate is an IT and networking expert with strong problem-solving skills and customer service experience. You should have:
✅ Extensive networking experience – Ability to design and manage LAN/WAN environments, configure VLANs, and optimize wireless networks.
✅ Proficiency with key networking technologies – Experience with platforms like Ubiquiti, TP-Link, MicroTik, Cisco, Grandstream, Polycom, and similar systems.
✅ Router and Firewall Expertise – Hands-on experience configuring and securing firewalls, VPNs, port forwarding, and access control policies.
✅ Structured cabling knowledge – Experience with Ethernet, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling for optimal network performance.
✅ Strong troubleshooting skills – Ability to diagnose and resolve network failures, connectivity issues, and system disruptions.
✅ Familiarity with cloud-based and remote management solutions – Experience with remote monitoring, cloud networking, and IT automation tools is an asset.
✅ Experience with smart home and security integration – Basic knowledge of Control4, Lutron, Kantech, Genetec, DSC, or similar systems is an advantage but not the primary focus.
✅ Certifications are a plus – Industry certifications like CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CWNA, Ubiquiti UBRSS, or equivalent are highly desirable.

What We Offer:
Competitive Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).
Signing Bonus: Available for qualified applicants.

- Monday to Friday, Day Shift (weekends off unless overtime is required).
