Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Operational IT Transformation at Porter Airlines is on the operations side of the business. They will be responsible for understanding the business and operational needs of Porter’s operations IT systems. Working with Porter’s IT and Solutions Delivery teams, this role will be responsible for and/or sponsor the design, implementation, and optimization of business processes across the operations organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of IT, airline operations, and Business Partnership Management methodologies to drive efficiency, innovation, automation and continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
- Develop and execute the operations’ technology strategy, ensuring alignment with Porter’s business objectives and Porter’s IT systems.
- Lead a team of airline operations professionals to ensure the successful delivery of all strategic initiatives and programs.
- Identify industry leading best systems, practices and recommend opportunities for inclusion in Porter’s strategic roadmap.
- Provide business application thought leadership to the Operations and Technology Teams.
- Ensure the principles of people, processes and technology are maintained as part of the integrated solution design process.
Process Design And Optimization
- Analyze current business processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Design and implement optimized processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Technology Integration
- Collaborate with IT, Solutions Delivery and various business units to integrate business solutions with existing systems.
- Ensure seamless integration of new technologies to support business processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with business initiatives.
- Communicate operations strategies and progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Work with Solutions Delivery to ensure operations needs and priorities are represented in the corporate roadmap.
Continuous Improvement
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices and a highly interactive collaboration with technology.
- Monitor and measure the performance of business processes to identify opportunities for further enhancement.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with business processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Program Delivery
- Work with the Solutions Delivery and Technology teams through implementation of large changes as the operations point person providing guidance as system and business risks and issues arise.
- Work with Solutions Delivery to roll out large changes to the operations groups ensuring any system and process roll out follow change management best practices.
- Ensure seamless transition to operations and establishing a continuous improvement program to continue evolving and optimizing organizational processes and assets.

- Business Ownership: The role ensures there is a central operations owner can go to when there are questions on projects or system issues.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in Airline Operations, IT and Business Partnership Management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of Business Partner Management methodologies and tools
- Experience with writing RFIs, RFPs, negotiating services and license contracts and Statements of work
- Third party and/or tool evaluation and selection based on fit for purpose for Porter ecosystem
- Well versed with the Cybersecurity landscape, emerging threats and risk management
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to deliver large programs and attain desired outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
