Located in Yaletown Vancouver, Westward Advisors Ltd. is Canada’s leading provider of insurance-based tax and estate planning solutions. Westward designs, implements and maintains life insurance plans for high net worth individuals and their private companies located from B.C. to Quebec.

We are currently seeking a Sr. IT Business Analyst on a full-time basis. The successful candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who possesses meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills.

THE ROLE

The Sr. IT Business Analyst's primary responsibility is to oversee the streamlined operation of the IT department. This individual’s principal goals are to develop and manage application portfolios for each department. The Sr. IT Business Analyst plans, coordinates, directs, and designs all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provides direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The Sr. IT Business Analyst works closely with senior management and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The IT team at Westward currently consists of one Sr. IT Business Analyst and one Jr. IT Systems Administrator.

DUTIES

Develop strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (information systems, cloud environments, security and communication systems).
Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget.
Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology.
Manage and develop Westward’s Jr. IT Systems Administrator and provide support and guidance relating to Westward’s IT systems.
Assignment of goals, projects and tasks for the Jr. IT System’s Administrator on an ongoing basis.
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Ensure smooth delivery and roll-out of IT projects.
Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
Write company specific IT and cybersecurity guidelines and policies.
Lead Microsoft Dynamics (D365) Customer Engagement (CE) projects involving strategy, implementation support, and optimization related to Westward’s operations.
Customization of Dynamics 365 solutions, develop workflows and business processes.
Identifying, integrate, customize, and maintain external third-party plugins/solutions expanding CRM capabilities to the needs and requirements of the organization.
Provide support and develop user documentation for Dynamics 365.
Create business specific reports and/or dashboards using PowerBi and Excel Power Pivot.
Take full ownership of Westward’s Portal, a digital product for clients and/or advisors to access their plans/files through a website.
Manage project milestones to back-end/ front-end developers as they relate to the Portal.
Administering and maintaining Azure cloud environment hosting Load Balancers, App Services, CI/CD Pipeline with the help of out back end developers.
Identify toolkit needs to support team development and goals.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Beneficial to have:

Industry certificates; MCSE, VCP, MCSA, CCNA, office 365 and Azure cloud.
Strength with Microsoft back-end systems: Azure, Office 365, SQL Server, Windows.
Knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Competencies:

Degree Computer Science or related discipline.
Project management with a proven record of successful completion

Experience:

MS Dynamics 365: 3 years (administration and customization skills are required)
MS Office 365 Administration including SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD: 3 years
Managing IT staff: 1-3 years.
MS PowerBI: 1-3 years of developing reports.
Scrum Master: Sprint planning, spring review for external developers.
Experienced in writing code in C#, VS.Net: 1-3 years.

Yes, however must reside within a 50km radius of Vancouver, BC.
