The Security Analyst position is responsible for maintaining Safeguards & Security systems, to include system administration of a Perimeter Intrusion Detection Assessment System (PIDAS) and other security equipment/facilities (keys/cores, safes, communications equipment, etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implements safeguards and security program operations
Develops and maintains security plans, protocols, procedures, and program files for VNSFS in accordance with NRC and DOE regulatory requirements.
Conducts self-assessments as required or requested.
Interacts on a regular basis with all levels of DOE, NRC, and other contractor management.
Conducts and/or assists with audits or surveys of security programs and provide assistance and consulting services to all departments.
Assists in developing security plans and procedures.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality
Perform other duties as assigned.

SAETY RESPONSIBILTIES

Keep work area in order and free of hazards. Perform work within the controls identified and stop work when an unsafe work condition exists. Participate in safety programs and initiatives. Report all injuries. Participate in work planning so that hazards are identified and appropriate corrective actions are taken.

Experience, Competencies, and Education

Requires a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of related work experience. Requires employee to obtain appropriate certifications and continuing education to ensure current knowledge of industrial security principles, procedures, and equipment.
Experience in system administration (preferably CISCO experience/training)
Experience with physical security systems, lock/key custodian, secure safes custodian

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals. Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Other Skills/Abilities

Ability to operate office copier, telephone, fax, and computer are required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” Clearance.
Requires some travel to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
