As a member of the Automation Team under Design and Development, you are responsible for developing network, infrastructure, and product automation solutions. You will work closely with different stakeholders from various teams to assist ongoing projects and develop new solutions from an automation perspective. You will be required to perform requirement gathering, analysis, solution development, implementation, testing and handoff.

As a Security Consultant for Automation, you will leverage your software - but more importantly analytical - skills to create the next wave of advanced security services by designing and implementing automation solutions in products, features, and technologies for our TELUS customers. Your work will enable security solutions that create value and provide “best of breed” solutions using security best practices and standards. Some of the existing and new service offerings may include Identity Access Management, NGFW (Palo Alto / Cisco), SASE, Network Access Control, MDR, and Cloud-based offerings such as AWS/AZURE/GCP.

You have excellent collaboration skills which you use to both partner with others and to obtain alignment on your ideas and recommendations
You are able to gather and analyze requirements for automation and cybersecurity projects
You can discover, learn and operate on new and existing technologies to implement automation solutions
You will develop solutions using technologies such as Ansible and Python

You have established experience and knowledge with networking, software, and security concepts. You are recognized as a collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Valued for your strategic and creative thinking and ability to come up with innovative ideas and solutions
Recognized as a technical leader, with an ability to identify and resolve technical roadblocks
Have an innate ability to develop use cases through requirement gathering and analysis skills
Confident with interacting, facilitating, and presenting to a wide audience with solid written and verbal communication

Required education and designations

University degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
3-5 years of experience developing software, security, and/or automation projects
Previous experience supporting development processes, including cross-functional collaborative initiatives
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including operations and other technical support teams
