Job Description

As an intern the selected individual will have the opportunity to work in a growing Information Security Division. This role will support a small, dedicated team of Security analysts and Engineers. This role will Introduce you to the understanding of the Information Security strategies used to defend the enterprise network.

Required Education

Minimum of 1+ years of applicable college studies (certifications accepted in lieu of college studies)
Field of study and prior experience considered
Desire and Drive to become a Security Analyst and/or Security Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

Previous or current Information Security field of study
Good understanding of varying security products
Basic understanding of Security Operations Center mission
Basic understanding of Incident Response
Basic Networking understanding
Drive and desire to learn and be a part of a team

Information Security Intern Roles And Responsibilities

This individual will support the Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst by providing daily support to operations and continued improvement
Support in various initiatives to streamline data and operations views for analysis and reporting
Lead efforts in updating and streamlining the SOC AV monitoring panel
Monitoring and tunning of email-based alerting (DLP, Phishing, Spam)
Review of documentation and policy for regulatory and system compliance
Analysis of access and accessibility of SOC tools
Analysis of SOC tools updates and version controls
Support the development of an improved interactive documentation repository
Network and IS system architectural mapping and documentation
Perform cross-functional analysis between IS and other departments for standardization
Support forensics mission with various task i.e. reformatting of SSD drives, Wiping of Drives, analysis of RDP video sessions etc.
Potential development of increased forensics and training capabilities
Possible support of the Fraud analysis process
Possible support of the Risk and Compliance process
Many other various activities that support SOC operations and the mission to support TaxSlayer and its brand.
