Overview

TalentFish is casting a line for a Cyber Security Engineer . This is a direct hire role Hybrid two days a week in the Downtown office. In this role you will act as a Cyber Security Engineer, w orking with stakeholders to continuously evaluate and improve Cyber security posture of the organization, including data loss prevention technologies and their associated processes. Partnering with infrastructure teams to ensure the timely patching of all devices. Perform initial security reviews of vendors and applications that are being considered, including technology components and provide a recommendation related to risk. Works with IT and internal and external business partners to ensure security is factored in the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration process of hardware and software.

Education and Experience

Degree in Computer Science similar field of study or 5 years' experience in Cyber Security

Preferred

Red Team participation

Experience writing executive presentations related to cyber security

Core Qualifications (Required)

Experience reviewing and contributing to cyber security policies based on security best practices.

Experience facilitating and participating in vulnerability scans and penetration tests.

Understanding of raw log interrogation, monitoring, and reporting using a SIEM or other log ingestion tools.

Experience with a major cloud platform provider like Azure or AWS.

Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with cloud identity providers and IAM principles.

5+ years of professional experience as a cyber security professional.

Knowledge of security controls and frameworks, including NIST

Proficient in Windows, MacOS, and Linux

Strong knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques

Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate on

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Provide network security support through partnerships with internal teams, monitor, manage firewall rules, IDS/IPS configurations, and DNS sanitation technologies.

Review network access requirements to ensure secure multifactor authentication techniques are applied

Ensure that data protection measures are in place using different techniques including best in class encryption applied globally; email security configurations relating to spam filtering, phish detection, malware prevention, DKIM compliance, and other security configurations

Secure endpoints via successful endpoint detection and response initiatives and partnerships, periodic reviews of applied host intrusion prevention systems, application whitelisting/blacklisting, and password retrieval and administrator session audits.

Actively participate in efforts related to identity management. This includes review SSO configurations, authentication policies, and user assignments

Support the technical engineering teams by recommending secure DevOps practices where appropriate and assisting in the managing the backlog of items associated with static code analysis and open-source repository analysis tools

Participate in the writing and refinement of security policies procedures that target different audiences. This includes optimizing existing incident response standards and procedures to increase the organization's cyber resiliency.

Contribute to the continuous detection and response efforts of the through monitoring, Red Team activities, vulnerability scans, phishing campaigns, threat analytics, penetration testing, and risk management activities.

Support root cause analysis investigations related to security incidents and the timely delivery of any documentation.

Assists in responding to audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
