We are currently looking for an outstanding candidate to join its Information Services division in the role of Network Administrator. The incumbent will supervise, maintain, and further develop the company’s network and infrastructure environment. The incumbent will be accountable for all aspects of networking, including evaluating opportunities for improvements; designing and developing new solutions; conducting upgrades; managing projects; maintaining day to day operations of the network systems

Objectives of the Role

Maintain high levels of availability, currency, and service delivery of the network infrastructure
In collaboration with the Director of IT, ensure cyber security and privileged account management practices are implemented and followed
Understand stakeholder needs and develop networking solutions and refinements that efficiently deliver connectivity on project initiatives
Be the technical networking expert for the company
In collaboration with the Director of IT, take a leadership role in developing and maintaining network architecture for the company

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, Wireless Devices)
Perform network support maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations during off-hours
Monitor performance and ensure system high availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Select and implement security tools, policies and procedures
Liaise with vendors and other Information Technology (IT) personnel for problem resolution
Maintain accurate documentation and designs of Information Technology (IT) systems configurations, architecture, network and operating procedures
Participate in disaster recovery planning activities and development of disaster recovery plans
Participate in information security monitoring, incident management and investigations as required
Perform internal audit of the Information Technology (IT) systems configuration and Logical Access reviews
Maintains effective and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, consultants, and users
Collaborate with IT operations staff and mentor one Systems Administrator
Perform other related duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or information technology supplemented by a CCNA certification (or equivalent)
3+ years of hands-on Network Engineering experience
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
Experience with fibre optics technology, including design and implementation of outside plant and in-building systems
Knowledge and experience with SD-WAN technology (VMware Velocloud preferred), IPSec and SSL VPN tunneling configurations for client and site-to-site connections
Firewall configuration and policies
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) configuration on various routers
Wireless implementation with Ruckus, Cisco and Juniper APs, and WiFi Controllers
Centrally-managed security suites including Zscaler and Barracuda
Mobile device management systems such as Meraki and VMware networking
VoIP phone systems and conferencing equipment
Able to execute systems and services implementation and upgrades
Strong communication (written/verbal), problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills
High attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
The ability to work independently and in a team environment
Technical design and documentation skills
The ability to learn new technologies on the fly in a dynamic environment, and to participate in after hours on-call support rotation
Travel between local sites is required
