Job Summary

The information Security Analyst role is responsible for configuration, support, and monitoring of information security tools, technology and processes. Members of the information security analyst role are responsible for implementing, maintaining established security practices. These activities have significant compliance impact and must be followed with great attention to detail. Information Security Analysts have responsibilities in alignment with multiple security domains.

The responsibilities of the role are aligned with certified information security services professional domains:

Demonstrate understanding of risk management activities, primarily focused on security awareness, training and education concepts as part of this domain.
Able to achieve a high level of competence in asset security, primarily focused on documenting the classification and ownership of information and assets.
Understanding concepts used in security models; participate in security conversations, implement changes as designed by security architects.
Monitor alerts for communications and network technologies and escalate and report suspicious activity.
Identity and Access management is a primary responsibility for the role.
- Onboarding new users, making changes associated with changes in responsibilities and removing users upon separation.
- Security analysts are responsible for maintaining a high level of confidentiality as the role has access to very sensitive information.
- Monitoring unusual activity associated with identities.
- Providing documentation in support of audits.

Scheduling and monitoring security assessment and testing technology at the direction of Security Engineers and Security architects.
Participate in multiple security operations activities.
- Document and support incident response activities in support of incident management goals.
- Establish, configure and support multiple logging and monitoring activities
- Participate in disaster recovery testing.
- Manage physical security configurations such as adding and removing users.
Configure and schedule scans of application security testing tools in support of maintaining software development security. Review reports and assign work to the engineering team to remediate findings, report on efficiency of remediation and provide recommendations.
