Position Summary

The IT Security Architect Lead provides tactical and technical oversight of cloud/hybrid/on-premises IT security architecture solutions and initiatives, coordinating large bureau-wide and department-wide activities. This position provides expert analysis and consulting services on the preparedness of WisDOT’s technical architecture and infrastructure to meet existing and emerging IT security threats. This role participates in enterprise architecture efforts, and oversees the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines regarding IT security architecture for WisDOT.

The work performed in this position requires the highest level of advanced technical research, development, and consulting services to support the management, control, design, upgrade, and integration of very complex systems within the application development and end user computing environments at WisDOT. This position develops, maintains, and optimizes professional collaborative relationships with internal WisDOT groups, the Department of Administration - Division of Enterprise Technology (DOA-DET), and various contractors and vendors.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (07-32) with an hourly salary of $36.00 - $51.00, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. However, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may at times need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must detail their experience in all the following in order to be considered:

Experience performing IT security architecture review
Experience leading the deployment and administration of enforcement technology solutions (e.g., malware detection/prevention, mobile device virtualization/MDM, cloud security management, structured and/or unstructured database encryption, mobile application security, remote API security, fine-grained application authorization and access control, security event visualization, big data user and/or entity behavior analytics, active adversary deception, etc.)
Experience working with advanced concepts and/or principles in IT security functional areas (e.g., cloud security, firewalls, security mediation services, identity and access management, industry standard security frameworks, security controls, compliance frameworks, etc.)

In Addition To Having All The Above, Well Qualified Applicants Will Also Have Experience In One Or More Of The Following

Experience responding to cyber security incidents
Experience using vulnerability assessment tools to examine systems, applications, and architecture to ensure a secure IT environment
