Position Summary

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Software Architect to support the launch of a new business incubated within SCA. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for the technical architecture of our enterprise systems, internal business workflows, and the APIs that power our consumer-facing experiences. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you will work with a talented and highly collaborative organization of designers, engineers, data analysts, and product managers to create a best-in class product experience for our customers. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and excited by the opportunity to wear many hats while contributing significantly to the technology foundations of our business.

Job Responsibilities

Design and build highly-available, scalable systems that drive our consumer-facing apps, enterprise applications, and analytics and reporting systems.
Design and build APIs that service our consumer facing apps, in collaboration with the rest of the engineering team.
Design and build Data Pipelines between our applications and data platform.
Review technical design artifacts and code produced by Sony engineers, as well as our external development partners.
Participate in an on-call rotation with other engineers to provide support during production incidents and outages.
Collaborate closely with the product managers and business stakeholders to align technical architecture with business goals and user requirements.
Work with PMO, Product and the rest of engineering to ensure projects are well-planned, executed, and meet organizational objectives.
Assist in conducting interviews for additional technical roles on the team.

Qualifications For Position

Your qualifications and experience should include: 

15+ years of experience that includes both enterprise and consumer software development.
Proficient in cloud computing platforms and services, preferably AWS.
Proficient in designing and building APIs (RESTFul, GraphQL), and long running workflows.
Proficient in a variety of data storage technologies (RDBMS, Key-Value Stores, SearchIndex, Object Storage).
Proficient in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
Proficient in DevSecOps tools & practices to facilitate continuous integration and delivery, ensuring a streamlined, and secure software development and deployment process.
Familiar with commercial software packages, (CRM, ERP, IT Service Management), and integrating them into a broader system architecture.
Familiar with various data architecture paradigms, (Data Warehouse, Data Lake) and Data Engineering techniques.
Familiar with modern front-end JS Frameworks, (React preferred)
Familiar with native application development (iOS, Android and/or Cross-platform frameworks)
Bachelor or master’s degree in CS, or equivalent practical experience
Highly effective written and verbal communication

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $175,000 to $190,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
