Director of Consulting / Technical Director

Our client, a global leader in the Cyber Security market is seeking a Director of Consulting / Technical Director for their New York office.

This would suit someone with the following attributes/skills -

Is, or has been highly technical, within the Cyber Security arena

Enjoys managing/ mentoring a team, with highly technical staff within Cyber Security

Has experience of the Consulting environment

Enjoys the mentoring, team progression side of the role and has high EQ

This would be running the consulting division only, not sales/marketing.

Wouldn't be expected to run a P&L, but would work with the VP on budgeting.

The current team is a great one, but you would be involved in expanding it and realising its potential.

Role -

The Director will be accountable for the following:

Quality of client delivery and capacity, measured by revenue and client feedback
Budget management, measured by costs, utilization and profitability
Development and line management of US consultants, measured by client and staff feedback
US Consulting culture, measured by research output and NPS.

The Director will share accountability for the following with the Consulting VP:

The Director will share accountability for the following with the US Sales Lead:

Account planning and governance, client relationship management and partnerships (external)
Consultant-led Sales Support (enablement, pre-sales, scoping)
Commercials, including daily rates and approach

What are we looking for?

Leadership - Ability to set a vision, design and execute a strategy to deliver it
Strong understanding of cybersecurity consulting services – including Assurance services, Security Risk Management, and Incident Response
Strong communication skills and personal impact. Must engage and inspire trust among internal and external stakeholders
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Delegation, supervision and coaching skills to bring the best out of other leaders and the team
Deep understanding of consulting as a business
A demonstrable passion for cyber security
