We are seeking a Head of IT & Development to take ownership of our software platform, ensuring its stability, scalability, and continuous improvement. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the platform’s technical architecture, maintaining system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, IT infrastructure, and system management, with the ability to understand the underlying code and contribute to ongoing development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and maintain the company’s software platform, ensuring uptime, security, and performance.
Review, understand, and manage the existing codebase to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance functionality.
Develop and implement new features, integrations, and customizations as required.
Lead and mentor a growing IT and development team as the company scales.
Work closely with leadership to align technical strategies with business goals.
Ensure data security, compliance, and best practices are followed.
Manage software updates, patches, and system improvements.
Collaborate with third-party developers or vendors when necessary.
Provide technical support for internal teams and customers as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
Proven experience in software development and IT leadership roles.
Strong proficiency in backend and frontend development technologies (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, React, or similar).
Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Familiarity with IoT technologies, GPS tracking systems, and embedded software is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize large-scale applications.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity, system monitoring, and IT best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
