RESPONSIBILITIES:

Configuration, installation, and support of Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/ WAN)
General duties include deployment, operation, troubleshooting, management, and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls, and other related network equipment
Quarterly assessments of network devices configurations, access lists, and security policies
Assist in the design and enhancements of network communications and solutions.
Perform systems upgrades (software and hardware) to improve the performance, security, and reliability of network infrastructure.
Train employees on new systems and enhancements.
Second level support for Network Operations Center staff.
On-Call supporting Level 1 NOC team every 2nd week – Paid.
Creating and updating documentation, network diagrams, and reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

Fully Bilingual - English and French is required
Educational level: Collegial (Diploma) / DEP and/or equivalent related experience
Cisco Certification required– CCNA or CCNP
3+ years of experience in configuration of enterprise grade networks and wireless networks
Implementation, configuration and troubleshooting of a variety of vendors for enterprise grade switches, routers, firewalls, VPN appliances, IDS/IPS etc.
Switching environments such as VLANs, STP, IGMP, DHCP, 802.1x
Routing environment using protocols such as RIP, BGP and OSPF
Monitoring systems and protocols (SNMP, Syslog, etc)
Knowledge of enterprise WiFi, VoIP, PSTN, legacy protocols (X25, Frame Relay) and telecommunications standards and protocols (MPLS, ISDN) will be considered a strong asset
Good understanding of ethernet switching and TCP/IP fundamentals
Ability to apply underlying knowledge of networking fundamentals to any new networking device
Familiarity with Juniper and Cisco products, and ability to quickly adapt to new products.
Analytical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
Motivated to learn and expand knowledge
