We are looking for a freelance Cybersecurity Specialist to work in Burlington, Canada.

Working in a hybrid environment, the Cybersecurity Specialist will work as a subject-matter expert, providing strategic advice on the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and compliance of cybersecurity policy and infrastructure.

Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:

Being responsible for developing and implementing cybersecurity policy to address Identity and Access risks.
Creating procedures and monitoring for compliance.
Performing governance oversight.
Developing deployment plans for new solutions.
Providing recommendations to leverage existing technologies and tools.
Documenting a concept of operations for ongoing successful operations.
Partnering with the Incident Response teams to identify and enhance controls in response to incidents.

Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

A diploma or degree in a related field (computer sciences, information technology, engineering, etc.) or a combination of experience and other education or professional development.
More than five years’ experience working at the intersection of IT, business, and industrial operations.
Experience working as a cybersecurity specialist.
Experience related to project management (ex. project administration, project coordination, etc.).
