IT Security Analyst (Entry/Junior Level)

Compensation Range: $50k - $70k DoE

Schedule: M-F, Full Time

Location: South Salt Lake Corporate Office (in-office)

We are looking for an Entry Level/Junior Security Analyst role with 1 - 2+ years of experience with proven hands-on technical abilities to support and maintain all aspects of the compute, storage, and networking environments. Additionally, this position will manage our I.T. associates consisting of System Administrators, Network Administrators, and I.T. Help Desk associates

Technical Responsibilites Include

Manage, maintain, and support firewalls/UTMs, IDS/IPS, VPNs, penetration testing, security event monitoring, and other security systems with an emphasis on threat hunting and log analysis.
Monitor, analyze, and interpret security/system logs for events, operational irregularities, and potential incidents and escalating issues as appropriate
Administration and operational support of all security monitoring and management systems
Implement, utilize, tune, and administer security tools such as endpoint protection, network analysis, SIEM, and other essential security solutions
Provide technical support and troubleshooting when needed regarding existing or new security tools and solutions
Provide support to remediate vulnerabilities such as patching, implementing controls to mitigate risk, and ensuring secure configuration of systems
Analyze suspicious emails, phone calls, and other potential security incidents to determine false positives or needs for escalation
With direction, perform regular threat hunting utilizing security tools and intelligence information to identify and remediate potential security threats
Perform research and remain aware of new and emerging threats to ensure newly discovered vulnerabilities are addressed
Act as an Incident Response team member when the incident response team is active. Incident response tasks may be identification, log and event collection and analysis, forensic investigation support, communication support, and evidence handling
Assist in developing incident response plans as well as Disaster Recovery plans.

What You Will Bring Along

At least a 2-year I.T. related degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
CompTIA Sec+ a plus!
Cisco CyberOps Associate a plus!
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, information security, and compliance controls is essential to success.
Must have teamwork qualities and the ability motivate and teach others
Must be able to prepare and present ideas to others in user friendly and understandable language
Must be organized and professional with the ability to multitask and work without supervision
Must have strong analytical thinking skills, attention to details, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Ability to communicate technically about Cisco wireless products, I.T. Security related issues, and telecommunications technologies and configurations
Ability to work 100% in-office in South Salt Lake out of the RC Willey Corporate Office.
