Summary

The Software Development Lead oversees software development projects, ensuring that they are completed on time to the required quality standards. The lead works closely with a team of software developers to define project requirements and plan and organize the development process. They also actively contributes to the codebase, writing code and conducting code reviews. The lead reports directly to the VP of IT and works closely alongside the Software Development Manager.

Position Goals

Lead software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers on the team.
Lead code reviews, improve code quality, and maintain coding standards.

Essential Job Functions

Receive project outlines with clear goals and estimated resource requirements.
Develop scope documents and requirements in consultation with a project’s customers.
Develop proposed data architectures to support agreed upon scopes.
Manage and mentor developers creating excellent software.
Write code.
Lead code reviews.
Create training documentation.
Close the loop, ensuring deployed software meets the original project goals.

Required Qualifications

Strong software development skills, with experience developing and deploying applications using C# and .NET framework.
Strong understanding of LINQ, TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Experience with SQL and experience working with databases.
Experience with source control systems such as Git or TFS, including knowledge of branching, merging, and version control best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management skills and experience leading software development projects.
Strong attention to detail: ability to identify and address bugs and other issues that may arise during the development process.

Qualifications Desired But Not Required

Experience working with Microsoft Business Central 365
Experience working with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops
Experience with database administration – SQL Server
Experience mentoring or leading other developers.
