Our client located in Brampton, ON, is looking to add a Junior Security Analyst/IT Support Technician to their team for a full time permanent opportunity. A well established company within the manufacturing industry, the opportunity offers a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide security analysis and monitoring of the technology infrastructure consisting of WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi networks, physical and virtual servers, applications, workstations, mobile devices, Anti-virus, Anti-spam systems, encryption software, file systems and databases

• Work closes with IT group and management to ensure on-going compliance with various security regulations and standards.

• Researches and implements security best practices based on government and industry regulations and best practices

• Maintains system security protocols, manages data access controls and performs day to day system monitoring, diagnosis and resolution of IT related security events and incidents

• Installs security measures and operates software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam, Multi-facture authentication, data encryption and other security related programs

• Monitors and investigates security concerns, breaches and other cyber security incidents

• Participates in security assessments and penetration tests through vulnerability testing and risk analysis

• Researches and evaluates new and enhanced security systems, protocols and policies and recommend accordingly

• Assist in the deployment of OS and Software patches – actions as necessary

• Assist with monitoring/maintenance/support of Virtual server/client environment

• Receive and respond to incoming calls, and/or Tickets regarding desktop problems.

• Resolve issues with associated end-user workstation, network, and software products

Qualifications

• Knowledge and working experience with current trends in information security and their practical applications, as they relate to the scope of responsibilities

• Knowledge of systems and network security management tools (e.g., Altiris, McAfee, ManageEngine, etc.), file integrity software, cloud-based email protection, remote access (VPN and RDP) and connectivity within a multi-platform client server environment

• Familiarity with applications security development, PCI DSS compliance, HIPPA, SOC2, Data Classifications, and Zero trust security models

• Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems

• Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development an asset

• Strong technical knowledge of Virtualized network environment with SAN solution

• Application support experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Linux and ERP Applications

• In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

• Strong understanding of project management principles
