The role: *
You are an information security expert with strong technical skills in software development and operations. You have a wealth of experience or a certificate, diploma or degree in cyber security, software engineering or computer science. You may have industry certifications in cyber security, devops or specific programming languages. Since you will be working with people that do not have a dedicated focus on security, you will need to be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner. You must be able to appropriately prioritize cyber security risk and respond quickly when mitigating or remedial action is required. You enjoy staying up to date with the latest security trends and threats. You will need to be able to translate these threats and trends into tangible actions for Plusgrade in order to continuously elevate our information security posture. You are tenacious and detail oriented, always following tasks through to completion. Your role will be the “Sec” in DevSecOps. You’ll be working with our engineering & development team. Your leader will be the Director of Information Security at Plusgrade, and he/she may assign other information security tasks to you. However Plusgrade is a matrixed organization. You will interact with a large number of different engineering teams and product streams.
What you’ll be doing:

Ensure cyber security across the entire software development lifecycle. Because you are a subject matter expert in application cyber security.
Provide guidance to developers and platform engineers.
Responsible for the operational security of our applications, including routine vulnerability scans & penetration tests, between development and operations is a well built continuous integration pipeline.
Be in charge of the security tooling in this pipeline.
Ensure that vulnerable code does not make it into production and ensure that security defects are properly ticketed and returned to the engineering team for remediation.
