Position Overview:
Assist with day-to-day SOC activities, knowledgeable of security policies and practices, assist with troubling shooting and resolving security monitoring issues. Act as a detective controls to detect and report on any unusual user activity. Actively document and record all security monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to be reported to management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitoring and analyzing security logs and alerts for on-premise systems
Monitoring and analyzing security logs and alerts for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms directly under SMTB management
Review 3^rd-party vendors' activities for SaaS services via vendor-provided periodic reports
Escalate any suspicious activity found in monitoring work and assist with any resulting investigations
Participate as a member of the Incident Response Team
Assist with the maintenance and administration of Information Security tools
Stay up-to-date on latest cybersecurity threat landscape and trends
Liaises with vendors and contractors as needed
Assists with various audits and examinations.
Assists with the evaluation and comparative analysis of proposed SOC-related tools as needed.
Acts as the subject matter expert for certain monitoring tools.
Maintains procedures and documentation for monitoring-related processes.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer sciences or a comparable field with 3+ years of experience with network maintenance.
Strong understanding of security principles and concepts
Experience with security monitoring and analysis tools
Experience with incident investigation and response
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Experience with threat intelligence
Understanding of with Cloud Security
Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019 and Active Directory.
Good knowledge of networking concepts
Good knowledge of firewall concepts
Good knowledge of Amazon AWS architecture and operations
Working knowledge of Linux systems would be a plus
Understanding of SIEM Tool
Understanding of Behavioral Analysis Tool
Knowledge of Privileged Account Management Tool
Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
Financial institution working experience preferred.
