Summary

We are looking for a talented and motivated R programmer to join a multidisciplinary team of statisticians and data scientists to solve important and challenging problems in drug discovery and development. In this role, the programmer will apply proficiency of R programming to data analysis and algorithm implementation in the areas of drug discovery and development in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

Perform data cleaning, quality check, and data manipulation tasks in accordance with data specifications
Implement statistical analysis or simulations in R per analysis plans or instructions from colleagues
Generate table or figure output in static or interactive (e.g. HTML) formats per analysis specifications
Implement algorithms in reusable modules or automated pipelines with clear documentation
Peer review or independently replicate analysis and R programs generated by others
Report analysis results and basic interpretation to internal Project Lead
Provide technical writing for analysis plans, presentations, reports and journal manuscripts
Communicate with clients and represent company at external meetings

Specific Qualifications

M.S. in relevant fields such as biostatistics, computer science, or data science
At least one year of R programming outside classes
Proficiency in R programming (e.g. tidyverse, Rmarkdown); familiarity in STAN, SAS, or Python a plus
Proven proficiency in generating publication-ready figures and tables (e.g. descriptive statistics)
Proven proficiency in developing reusable R functions; authoring CRAN R packages a plus
Experience in version control systems (e.g. git) a plus
Knowledge in statistical modeling and methods (GLM, GLMM, survival)
Experience in UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, HPC, or cloud computing a plus
Knowledge in common data standards/formats in clinical (SDTM and ADaM) or -omic studies a plus
Excellent problem-solving and learning skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
