The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is a registered charity, established in 1873. The Society and its network of communities facilitate and provide for province-wide leadership on matters relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of animal well-being. Offering a variety of mission-based programs, including community-based sheltering, animal wellness services, provincial animal transfers, shelter health & wellness, high-volume spay/neuter services, animal rescue, animal advocacy, Indigenous partnership programs and humane education, the Ontario SPCA is Ontario’s animal charity.

Opportunity

Position: The IT Director is a valued member of the Senior Management Team. This position is responsible for leading the organization’s Information Technology services. This position will ensure the seamless integration of new or existing technology and software, and be accountable for high standard of customer service to our internal clients. This role will hire, retain and manage the performance of an IT team to successfully fulfill the department’s strategic goals.

A Typical Week

· Organizing entire IT operations, including infrastructure, networking, applications, cybersecurity and user support

· Managing a team of IT staff

· Ensuring a high level of user satisfaction from the IT helpdesk

· Coordinating and managing service and cloud providers to ensure data & network availability

· Cultivating relationships with external vendors

· Assist in the development of the long term IT strategy and roadmap

· Work with other departments to gather feedback and business requirements to make recommendations to better utilize data and technology

· Direct and support the implementation of new software, hardware and systems

· Delivering IT projects on-time and within budget

· Ensure IT costs are managed efficiently and within budget, including ongoing review of expenditures, contracts and licensing

· Identify cybersecurity risks and ensure processes follows industry best practices

· Ensure the organization is compliant with privacy & data regulations (ie: PEPIDA, CASL, PCI DSS)

· Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for user provisioning, asset inventory, helpdesk and etc.

· Other duties as assigned to support the department

Do You Have What it Takes?

· Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems or computer science

· 2 to 3 years of related experience

· Strong Reporting and Data Analytics skills

· Experience managing staff and vendor relations

· Other IT certifications and continuing education is preferred

· Solid communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals

· Strong leadership skills

· Detail and process orientated

· Must be a team player

· Experience in a non-profit organization considered an asset

· Certification in Business Analysis and Project Management is an asset

· Experiencing working with Citrix, Microsoft 365, Mitel is an asset
