We are currently looking for a Senior Networking Specialist to join our team. Due to this being a Senior role, experience and existing certifications specifically related to Cisco is required.

This job will not force you to sit at a desk for 40 hours a week. You will be able to visit customer sites, perform on site as well as off-site work and be part of the entire Nickel City Communications portfolio.

As the data/network side would be your first priority, we are looking for a candidate that can;

Work with and install various Cisco products (Router/firewalls, ASA, switches, APs, ETC.)
Maintain, troubleshoot and administer local/wide area networks.
Maintain, troubleshoot and administer various routers and firewalls.
Evaluate and install various computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
Provide problem-solving services to the end users.
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize performance.
Design, install and program a complete data network including routers, switches, servers, wifi and workstations.

Skills and qualifications:

Cisco Certifications and Cisco product experience
3 - 5 years of active experience installing, programming and managing network and data infrastructure.
Strong technical knowledge in the following:
Data switches, access points, routers and firewalls.
Good technical knowledge in the following:
Microsoft Windows and other PC related products.
Virus Security.
Various servers.
Computer troubleshooting.
Strong documentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication both internally and with the end users.
Must have the ability to multitask and maintain strong organization skills.
Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to dealing with multiple clients in any given day.

Requirements:

Must be located in Sudbury or planning to relocate to Sudbury in the very near future.
Must have a valid Ontario drivers license.
Must provide a drivers abstract.
Must be willing to travel throughout Northern Ontario. (Company vehicle would be provided for travel)
Must be able to pass various police and security checks.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
