Information Security Advisor

Hybrid role, on site 2-3 days a week.

Work location is London Ontario.

Our client requires an Information Security Advisor for a contract engagement. The consultant develops, maintains, and manages a structured Information Security Incident Response protocol that includes maintenance of security incident records, documentation, statistics and metrics in support of reporting requirements. This protocol also requires the incumbent to act as Security Incident Manager to coordinate activities, communications, and resources in conjunction with the Director and the Privacy Officer for significant campus impacting security incidents including information security breaches. The consultant;

Conducts ongoing Cyber Risk Assessment services, in conjunction with Internal Audit, as appropriate, on computing and information services associated with and used in the client network environment in order to help the client proactively identify potential security risks
Provides oversight monitoring, including periodic and specific compliance audits as required, to help ensure that the client’s owned information systems are managed in accordance with the client’s Information Security policies, procedures, and standard or other external Government legislative requirements
Provides technical consultation, advice, and practical assistance to internal business units / personnel to help define information security requirements, appropriate solutions, and to evaluate security-related technologies
Acts as a key stakeholder and advocate for the development of a comprehensive Cyber Risk Management and Information Security Technology strategy for the client that includes an integrated set of technology, policy, procedure, response, reporting, and ongoing education and awareness activities
Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the client’s current information technology systems, architectures, and business requirements, including current and informed understanding of information security technology trends, trends, and industry solution strategies
