As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's information systems and data. Your primary role will involve monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing proactive measures to prevent cyber threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, develop security protocols, and implement solutions to safeguard the organization's digital assets. This position requires a strong understanding of cyber threats, knowledge of security tools and technologies, and the ability to stay updated with the latest security trends.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Monitoring and Incident Response:

Monitor network traffic and system logs to identify and respond to security incidents promptly.

Conduct in-depth analysis of security events, determine the root cause, and initiate appropriate remediation measures.

Investigate and document security breaches, vulnerabilities, and intrusions, and provide recommendations for mitigation.

2. Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing:

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on the organization's systems, networks, and applications.

Perform penetration testing to identify weaknesses in security defenses and provide recommendations for improvement.

Collaborate with system administrators and developers to address identified vulnerabilities and ensure timely patching and updates.

3. Security Infrastructure Management:

Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption solutions.

Configure and maintain security systems and platforms to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Monitor security alerts and keep abreast of emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

4. Security Policy Development and Compliance:

Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Conduct security awareness training for employees and promote a culture of security awareness and responsibility.

Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, and make recommendations for enhancements to the security posture.

5. Incident Documentation and Reporting:

Document security incidents, including the timeline of events, impact analysis, and recommended actions for future prevention.

Prepare regular reports on security metrics, incidents, and trends for management review.

Provide clear and concise communication to stakeholders regarding security incidents, risks, and mitigation strategies.

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting the organization's critical assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g. CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.

Proven experience working as a Cyber Security Analyst or in a similar role.

Solid understanding of cyber security principles, technologies, and best practices.

Knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).

Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.

Familiarity with security incident management, including identification, response, and recovery.

Preferred candidates should be from Fredericton, New Brunswick, as this is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office.
