SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

The specific responsibilities of the Network Administrator, while not limited to, include:

Installation, termination and testing of single mode and multi-mode fibre (Mechanical termination & fusion splicing);·
Installation and testing of network and voice cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6);·
Communicate with other workers to co-ordinate the preparation & completion of work assignments;·
Install, remove, maintain & repair aerial & underground telephone & other tele-communication transmission lines;·
Operate computerized testing systems (Fluke DTX1800, OTDR) on lines and equipment, determine the nature, cause and location of failures;·
Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software.

Provide guidance, recommendations, and technical leadership to the organization and IT team members.
Collaborate with IT Business Systems, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams on projects.
Research, evaluate, and recommend new infrastructure solutions and enhancements.
Perform proof of concepts, create and present proposals to the IT team.
Participate in the design and implementation of complex infrastructure technologies around networking.
Provide network infrastructure technical expertise to the IT Security team in the design and implementation of key projects.
Work closely with vendors to procure equipment and services.
Participate in project planning activities; provide the scope of work and level of effort around projects.
Produce design and as-built documentation to effectively hand over system architecture to other departments for successful systems implementation.
Provide oversight, guidance, and lead resolution of network issues and outages.
Perform preventive scheduled maintenance on critical hardware.
Provide advanced support for networking issues.
Inspect & test telecommunication transmission characteristics & locate faults;·

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
