The Justice Technology Services Division, MAG Solutions Branch is seeking an Information Technology Analyst to lead and coordinate the development and implementation of technical solutions, including related activities in support of operations and the roll-out of large, complex, corporate systems across the province.

Bring your technical expertise to the Justice Technology Services, MAG Solutions Branch in supporting Justice I&IT Systems and other in-production information technology systems.

Your incident management, problem management and change management skills will be tested in this role, as you will also provide technical services to end users within Ministry and clients across the branch.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

Participate in developing and coordinating the implementation of medium to large, complex corporate information technology initiatives in a Windows and Linux/Unix environment.

Good understanding of NetWorks & Firewalls, LVS (Linux Virtual Server)
Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using SQL (like building reports)
Demonstrate experience in implementing a secure application infrastructure for COTS and custom build applications

assessing, and resolving problems/conflicts

Coordinate migrations to new software and post-implementation evaluation of all installations
Coordinate application/system support, including hands-on support, trouble-shooting and problem solving
Provide hardware/software configuration and trouble-shooting expertise, configuring or installing software and business critical applications
Provide technical services or deployment of new releases and upgrades of application software for Justice systems.

How do I qualify?

Information Technology Knowledge and Technical Skills:

You have knowledge of information technology hardware, and local/wide area networking
You have knowledge of information architecture, data modeling, object oriented as well as traditional structured programming knowledge and skills
The ability to provide technical expertise for the planning and maintenance of computer hardware and software products in a Windows and Linux/Unix environment
Knowledge or .Net Technologies, Web Services, WPF, WCF, Oracle Application Server (OAS), VM Ware, SQL Server
Good understanding of Networks VM Ware, SQL Server & Firewalls, LVS (Linux Virtual Server)
Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using SQL (like building reports)

Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL processes and best practices, and LAN, WAN, database, and Internet technologies in Windows server environments
Knowledge of IT Security protocols, design principles, and best practices to ensure that ministry data and information assets have appropriate safeguards consistent with OPS policy and practices
You have hands on experience working with Upgrades, deployments. And Patching

You have knowledge of a variety of platforms (including cloud), standard software and databases
You have knowledge of programming with various languages and proficiency in the use of compilers.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

You have interpersonal skills to interact with end users and the vendor community
You can identify and clarify user requirements; prepare business cases for acquisitions of hardware/software and development of divisional applications
You have good oral and written communication skills to clearly provide instructions to team members and third-party vendors, interview users/managers and clarify requirements
You can provide troubleshooting to customer sites and colleagues and promote the services of the MAG Solutions Branch to clients and stakeholders

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

You have experience analyzing, identifying and evaluating systems, operational problems and additions/modification necessary to ensure that changes meet the Division's requirements
You can review and assess a wide variety of documentary information and create technical solutions
You have experience in designing, developing, and implementing information management systems and managing system development projects
You can solve problems under pressure for incident management and problem management and database applications(oracle forms/database, crystal reports)

Organizational Skills:

You can prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
You can determine priorities, when timelines conflict; and recommend changes to particular components of projects to improve efficiencies and capabilities of end product
