Overview:

The IT Assistant Manager plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining Legend’s IT systems, infrastructure, and business applications. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping the business running day-to-day while also contributing to system improvements and strengthening the organization’s information security and compliance posture.

This position is also designed as a step into leadership, with the expectation of acting as IT Manager during a planned leave. The successful candidate will be someone who can balance technical execution with ownership, accountability, and team coordination when required — including the potential to lead key initiatives such as SOC 2 readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Run the Business (Day-to-Day IT)

Support and maintain ERP (ISAH), CRM, and other core business systems

Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues quickly and effectively with a root cause mindset

Ensure system performance, data integrity, and usability across the organization

Support reporting tools including Power BI and internal dashboards

Provide responsive, high-quality support to end users

IT Operations & Infrastructure

Assist with management of networks, devices, servers, and overall IT infrastructure

Monitor system health and proactively resolve issues

Support cybersecurity practices, data protection, and access controls

Ensure backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes are functioning

Coordinate with external vendors and service providers

Information Security & Compliance

Support preparation for SOC 2 Type 2 and/or ISO 27001 compliance

Assist in the design, development, and implementation of information security policies and procedures

Participate in security audit processes, including internal audits, external assessments, and remediation activities

Help identify risks and gaps in current systems, controls, and processes

Support security awareness and training initiatives across the organization

Assist in evaluating and implementing security tools and technologies to support compliance objectives

Step Into Leadership

This role will serve as Acting IT Manager during a planned leave period

Supports IT leadership and assumes responsibilities in their absence

Act as the primary IT point of contact across the business during this time

Help manage day-to-day IT priorities, systems, and support needs

Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Sales

Support coordination of IT workload, priorities, and issue resolution

Contribute to a positive, solutions-focused IT team environment

Systems & Process Improvement

Review current systems, workflows, and business processes across departments

Identify inefficiencies and gaps using a TIM WOODS mindset

Partner with Operations and Finance to support system and process improvements

Provide IT input into future-state system planning and business needs

Contribute to implementation planning and execution of system improvements as required

Support & Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and support business needs

Train and support users on systems, tools, and processes

Ensure IT solutions are practical, scalable, and user-friendly

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business

Other duties as assigned

Seamless transition into acting IT Manager when required

Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on IT experience (manufacturing experience considered an asset)

Experience supporting ERP systems and business applications

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a GSD mindset

Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity fundamentals

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, onsite environment

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts simply

Comfortable working cross-functionally, including on the shop floor

Background in IT compliance, security frameworks, or audit processes

Demonstrated ability or willingness to step into leadership responsibilities

Experience supporting or leading SOC 2 Type 2 implementations

Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
