Your Role at KIK

The Software Architect reports to the Chief Information Officer. In this role, you will be driving the digital business transformation. You will play a crucial part in designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions. Your extensive technical expertise in both full-stack development and digital technologies, along with your exceptional problem-solving skills, will be essential in delivering high-quality software products that support KIK's strategic objectives.

This position is 100% remote with occasional travel.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and actively contribute to cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and product managers, to thoroughly comprehend requirements and translate them into technically robust solutions.
Architect, design, develop and execute end-to-end software applications that align seamlessly with our digital goals.
Craft clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and coding standards.
Take the helm in designing backend services and APIs using relevant programming languages and frameworks such as Java, C#, Python, or Node.js, and their associated frameworks like Spring Boot, .NET, Django, or Express.js.
Envision and construct intuitive, responsive user interfaces employing contemporary frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Work closely with database administrators to architect and optimize database structures and queries.
Integrate software systems seamlessly with external APIs and third-party platforms, ensuring a frictionless flow of data and system interoperability.
Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate software issues, unearth root causes, and spearhead effective solutions.
Remain at the forefront of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, applying them judiciously to enhance software development procedures and deliver inventive solutions.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development
Demonstrated excellence in full-stack software development, showcasing proficiency in both back-end and front-end technologies.
Proficiency in database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and a track record of working with ORMs and optimizing database queries.
Adept understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
Familiarity with digital technologies such as mobile app development, cloud computing, data analytics, or machine learning.
A relentless pursuit of continuous learning, coupled with a fervor for staying current with the latest technologies and industry trends.
Proven experience in constructing APIs for both internal and external products.
Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices.
Must be willing to travel up to 25%.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At KIK, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees. This position has a base salary range of $170,000 – 180,000 plus an annual incentive bonus or commission target. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
