HCPSS currently has one (1) open position for a Cybersecurity Networking Academy Teacher for SY 2024- 2025.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of education.

Degree's earned outside the United States require an evaluation to be completed. Please visit MSDE for a list of approved vendors. Once your evaluation has been completed, upload the evaluation as transcript to the application materials section of your application.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid MSDE teaching certificate

Certification

Teacher candidate should be eligible for or certified to teach in one of the areas below:

Business Education
Computer Science
Secondary Math
Technology Education
Secondary Science

Preferred Certification

Certification in CompTIA A+, Net+ and Security+
Certification as an approved Cisco Academy instructor for IT Essentials, CCNA 1-2, and CCNA CyOps

Salary

The salary for this 10-month position will be based on the HCEA salary scale. Actual salary placement will be in accordance with the salary procedures of the Howard County Public School System. The maximum step of entry for teachers with a Bachelors degree only is step 12. The maximum step of entry for teachers with a Bachelors + 30 credits or higher is step 18. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is exempt from overtime.
