Hilltop Holdings is looking for an IT Security Analyst. Under the direction of the Information Technology Security Operations Director, the Information Security Analyst serves as a key part of the security team to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Company information assets. The Information Security Analyst has extensive responsibility of monitoring of DLP systems for policy violations, user activities, threats, indications of compromise, and other security risks. In addition, the Analyst serves as part of the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and works closely with other internal and external groups to gather actionable threat intelligence and ensure quality operations on a continuous basis.

Monitor and check deployed security solutions for anomalies, threats, events, or behaviors that could indicate potential security incidents
Assists in conducting analysis, identification, remediation, and documentation of network intrusions and computer system compromises
Conducts threat intelligence research and monitors cybersecurity related threat feeds
Assist with incident response efforts and coordinate remediation activities
Participate in Threat Hunting activities to identify indicators of previously undetected
threats and/or weaknesses within the security architecture
Assist in maintaining and enhancing technical security controls and technologies
Assist in identifying vulnerabilities in the compute environment in accordance with a risk-based vulnerability management program
Assist in investigating violations of the corporate Data Loss Prevention policy
Problem/change management responsibilities include the submission of change requests, reviews and suggestions for change and problem management resolution
Ticket handling includes being able to open, escalate, and resolve tickets, following all processes and procedures while properly documenting all troubleshooting steps and updating documented processes as needed
Other duties as required

Associates’ degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Minimum 2 years of technical experience in technology fields; some financial services experience beneficial. Advanced training in cybersecurity or information systems may be considered to meet this requirement
Solid background with Windows and Linux (Unix-based) operating systems on both servers and workstations
Ability to accurately analyze information and data sets, extrapolating and correlating data accordingly
General knowledge of controls, technologies and platforms commonly used to secure corporate network environments and the ability to leverage these tools
Foundational knowledge of cyber attack vectors, TTPs, and IoCs used to defeat security systems in order to effectively employ countermeasures
Strong verbal and written communications skills, with ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships across business units
Excellent problem-solving, conceptual thinking abilities, and attention to detail
Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity or Top 20 Critical Security Controls
Familiarity with regulations such as GLBA and SOX
