The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a seasoned Sr Software Developer to support our Software Development Organization.

The Sr. Software Developer will support the application portfolio. This role requires the ability to participate in communication, working with offshore Dev team, variety of clients and internal groups. This is a hands-on, full cycle product developer (at a high level) that can also participate in working in the database and communicate and consult with clients (internal and external). This person will need the ability to hit the ground running and participate in design and decision-making processes.

An ideal candidate will have some client consulting background, and comprehend quickly, hands-on in design and decision making. This role will work closely with the Head of Software Development in a remote environment. Previous experience in ReactJS, .Net Core 6 and Postgres RDBM full life-cycle product development is required. It is vitally important these individuals are hands on and able to participate and contribute at the highest level.

Responsibilities

● Work with development teams to improve efficiency in the software deployment process.

● Responsible for updating, maintaining, and selecting development tools used for tracking, building, and deploying software.

● Develop continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts and tools.

● Improve deployment frequency while minimizing business impact

● Improve processes to lower failure rates of new releases and improve tools and processes to create a continuous integration environment.

● Assist in containerization of software environments.

● Provide documentation and training for supported tools.

● Lead workgroups effectively in order to conduct interviews effectively, and non-judgmentally

● Identify additional technology SMES and secure needed resources

● Be resourceful, self-directed, and be able to multi-task

● Guide teams in designing, building, testing, and deploying changes to existing software

● Enhance the company’s IT infrastructure security protocols

● Identify manual processes that can be automated

● Consider the organization’s entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvements

● Provide domain expertise to engineers on Automation, Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and processes, crafts, and executes test scripts, assists in preparation of test strategies, sets up and maintains test data & environments as well as logs results.

● Function as a platform/application SME who drives quality and automation strategy at application level, identifies new opportunities and drives Software Engineers to deliver the highest quality code.

● Execute against the test and automation strategy defined at the portfolio level.

● Work with engineers to drive improvements in code quality via manual and automated testing.

● Deliver on capabilities for the application automation strategy.

● Involved in the review of the user story backlog and requirements specifications for completeness and weaknesses in function, performance, reliability, scalability, testability, usability, and security and compliance testing, and provides recommendations Plans and defines testing approach, providing advice on prioritization of testing activity in support of identified risks in project schedules or test scenarios.

● Develop test plans, testing resource requirements, and overall scheduling of testing tasks.

● Develop manual and automated test cases and configurations needed to meet testing of business requirements.

● Execute test cases/scripts to ensure delivery of quality software applications, including Systems Integration, Regression, and Performance Testing.

● Generate test data to support the requirements and test case for various test phases.

● Responsible for handling the definition, implementation, and integration of quality principles into the design and development of software and IT processes for the team.

● Monitor and track resolution of defects.

● Design, monitor, and analyze quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status.

● Recognize opportunities to adopt creative testing technologies and techniques.

● Look beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.

● Security: While continually updating code to make the system run faster and better, the DevOps Engineer also must make sure that the changes to improve the system don’t accidentally make the system more vulnerable to attack.

● Flexibility: Will update sections of software, as well as simultaneously managing changes to other parts of the program.

● Collaboration: Will assist team members as needed.
