As an IT/Desktop Services Technician, you will manage majority of our helpdesk ticketing requests for hardware/software issues as well as managing the internal desktop program for upgrades, new employee hires etc. You will exhibit leadership and impeccable customer service abilities while managing service requests at all tier levels. You will work with all Grantek departments with varying technical ability. Communication skills will be key for success.

Job Description

As a key member of Grantek’s IT team, you will report to our Senior Director, IT and be mentored by our IT Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining user equipment, mobile technology services and for level 1 IT ticket requests. This role involves working with many demographics of users including those with high and those with lower technical proficiency.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Perform Microsoft Active Directory functions related to user management such as password resets, account management, etc.
Imaging and deploying Laptops and mobile devices.
Accountable for all IT tasks related to new employee hires and terminations
Investigate and troubleshoot network issues related to services such as DHCP and DNS
Maintain company inventory utilizing asset tracking software
Timely troubleshooting and support of laptops, printers and other hardware and software
Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365) knowledge and troubleshooting (Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, PowerPoint etc.)
Email client configuration & setup (Outlook, phone email setup, groups, etc.)
Daily use of the helpdesk/ticketing system to track requests, activities, and perform metrics reporting
Ability to setup/troubleshoot mobile devices
Creation and maintenance of Windows PowerShell scripts
Continuous improvement of staff technologies and the overall computing environment

Qualifications

1 - 2 years experience in a corporate technical support role
Work experience or education focused on the relevant technical discipline
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills to interact all sorts of internal clients with varying technical abilities. Good listening skills is critical
Good comprehension of operating systems including but not limited to Windows 10, Windows Server, and Linux
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, Internet browsers, and Operating Systems
Proven exemplary customer service experience, entailing listening to the customer’s needs and frequent communication utilizing good oral and written methods
Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP and switches/routers
Familiarity with Antivirus software, firewalls, and other IT security components
Must like working with people
Ability to manage time, multi-task and change priorities regularly
Willingness to work on-site for 2-3 days a week, as this is a hybrid position
