We’re the only national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentorship and resources to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. Here’s the opportunity: Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Developer

As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Developer, you will play an integral role within the organization, providing continued support, development, customization, monitoring and maintenance of IT applications and software. You will be responsible for the organization's line of business applications (LOB)which includes application (Dynamics CRM/365 Customer Engagement, SharePoint 2013, SharePoint O365, Power Platform) development, systems integration (full stack .NET development, integration development), systems analysis, solution architect and application administration.

Working as part of the IT team and reporting to the Head of IT, this role will provide knowledge transfer along with clear and concise documentation of our systems. This role will provide application development, design, automation, integration, optimization, and implementation of tier 1 Futurpreneur LOB applications.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Toronto, ON. The incumbent will be working on our hybrid work model (minimum 2 days in the office).

What You Will Do

Software & Application Development 45%

Design and develop systems to support both business and technical integration needs.
Front-end web development: Develop GUI, document upload, design UX, explore mobile-friendly responsive designs across different browsers. Maximize existing platform (SharePoint designer) with market-leading programming languages like HTML, CSS, AngularJS, jQuery, and popular design frameworks (Bootstrap). Leverage APIs and RESTful services to make network communications efficient.
Middleware development: Design and develop Web APIs by using modern service-oriented architecture (SOA), industry-standard protocol for authorization (OAuth2.0), create and consume web services by following the HTTP standards (XML/JSON), technologies, platforms, and development tools.
Back-end development: Apply object-oriented (OO) programming principles to development server-side solutions, such as, database (SQL Server, Common Data Service), integration with 3rd party systems (Equifax, ClickDimensions), content management, SSRS reporting by using different language and technologies, such as, C#, .NET, WCF, MVC.
Configurate and customize CRM (Sales, Customer Service) with out of the box tools. Create web resources in JavaScript, develop custom workflows and plug-ins with Microsoft SDK
According to organizational policies, implement processes for PII data scrubs and overall data cleanup.

D365 CE & SaaS Power Platform Developer 45%

Lead project implementation of enterprise applications such as Dynamics CRM/365, SharePoint (on-premises/online), Power Apps, Azure DevOps, BI/Data platform
Follow Agile/Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, collaborate with project stakeholders and peers across different teams.
Work with the Business Analyst to understand functional requirement, address technical challenges, develop POC, identify change request impacts and priories, assist IT director with the application roadmap, strategic planning, application security policies and procedures, system integration and digital transformation.
Work with external consulting partners to develop solutions by utilizing best practice methodologies and Azure tools, such as, DevOps CI/CD Pipelines, app-service deployment slots, Dataverse, SharePoint 365, Power Pages, and other software development projects etc.
Document requirements specification, solution design, implementation steps, testing cases, manage source code version control with Git/SVN
Provide guidance, mentoring, code review, and knowledge sharing with team, support production report issue, troubleshoot and investigate root causes of escalated incidents, system backup monitoring and maintenance!
Explore new technologies and tools to improve systems performance robustness and business insights, such as, process automation, text analytics and sentiment analysis with machine learning AI models, Viva Insights, ChatGPT, etc.
Leverage Microsoft Power Platform to create Power Apps, Power Automate and other solutions to leverage investments in cloud technology.

Application Security 10%

Assist IT team in the remediation of issues found in cybersecurity tests.
Monitor application / security logs and subsequently report and resolve incidents according to internal cybersecurity process.
Maintain inventory of all application code types / languages, versions, patching levels, and locations of Futurpreneur application software
Document software design and architecture according to Futurpreneur cyber security practice

What You Will Have

Relevant experience may include education with a focus in computer science or a closely related field or equivalent hands-on career experience.
3 -5 years' experience in an IT role with a focus working on Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, SharePoint 365, Power Platform, Power Pages, SQL 2014 Enterprise DBA & SaaS development / administration.
Strong sense of commitment to excellence and following development best practices.
MS Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement development and administration - must have.
MS SQL (2014 or later) / SaaS database administration - nice to have.
SharePoint O365 and legacy MS SharePoint 2013 administration & development - considered an asset.
IIS, C#, Java Script, HTML5, CSS - must have.
Application backup / restore / DevOPS - considered an asset.
Application monitoring - must have
Microsoft Development Certificates in D365 (considered an asset), Power Platform / Power Pages, SaaS applications (Microsoft Business Central would be an asset).
Microsoft Certified SQL DBA would be an asset.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and successfully complete projects with conflicting deadlines and urgency.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Strong sense of responsibility and accountability and can deliver on project sprints according to schedule.
Extremely trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent analytical, organizational, written and communication skills.
Ability to handle a heavy and varied workload and multiple tasks with a short deadline.

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience in a not-for-profit would be an asset.
Fluency in French is considered an asset.
