Summary

The IT technician is responsible for managing all aspects of hardware configuration for projects within the organization's field. The IT technician provides solutions to technical problems and is responsible for job planning and quality production. This position is accountable for the processes of Hardware and software installation, testing, components, and systems as assigned.

Job Duties

· Installing and configuring hardware and software components

· Troubleshooting hardware and software issues

· Repairing or replacing damaged hardware

· Upgrading systems to enable software compatibility

· Installing and upgrading anti-virus software and security systems to ensure network security

· Performing tests and evaluations on software and hardware

· Offering information and support to users

· Maintaining relationships with different employees and departments

Requirements

· Minimum two years college diploma in IT networking, cyber security or similar fields.

· French speaking with fluency is an asset but not mandatory

· Strong presentation, oratory, and verbal skills

· Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner

· Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian electrical standards

· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives, customers, and suppliers.

· Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

· Able to apply right mathematical methods and formulas to problem solving

· Able to create alternative solutions to problems

· High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning

· Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures

· Working Conditions

· Up to 50% travel will be required

· Ability to attend and conduct presentations

· Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals

· Overtime as required

· Will be travelling to installation sites within Canada

· Weekend work may be required

· Need to be able to work at elevated height.
