We are a public safety software company based in Montreal, Canada, with a particular focus on Computer Aided Dispatch and 911 technology. Our close knit and highly experience team has decades of experience working together designing, building, and supporting technology solutions for emergency communication centers and first responders. Today we work with customers in the USA, Canada, South America, and around the globe, with deployments that range in size from four position dispatch centers to country-wide implementations with hundreds of dispatch positions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Lead to own how we build, deploy, and run our systems. You'll be responsible for CI/CD, cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, networking, and infrastructure security — and you'll set the standards the rest of engineering builds and deploys against.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for all engineering teams
Own cloud infrastructure architecture and operations across Azure and AWS
Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation)
Design and manage network architecture, including VPCs/VNets, load balancing, and DNS
Own infrastructure security — IAM (Identity and Access Management), secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and patching cadence
Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting so problems are caught before they're incidents
Lead incident response for infrastructure and deployment issues, and drive post-incident reviews
Mentor DevOps/SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) engineers and set standards for deployment and operational practice

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering
Hands-on production experience with both Azure and AWS
Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Solid networking fundamentals — VPC/VNet design, DNS, load balancing, firewalls
Practical security experience: IAM/least-privilege design, secrets management, vulnerability scanning
Comfortable owning an on-call rotation and leading incident response

Nice to Have

Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator or Architect)
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Background operating in a compliance-driven environment (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar)

WHY EMERES?

Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses
A collaborative and innovative team environment
Professional development opportunities
A unique, exciting and dynamic culture with the public safety sector
Comprehensive health and dental benefits

Background Screening & Security Requirements

Due to the nature of our work supporting public safety and government agencies, employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required pre-employment screening processes. These may include employment verification, education verification, criminal history checks, and other legally permissible background investigations.

In addition, employees may be required to obtain and maintain eligibility to access customer systems, facilities, and information. This may include fingerprint-based background checks, compliance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy or similar requirements, and additional customer-specific screening, credentialing, security clearance, or drug-testing requirements. The ability to successfully satisfy and maintain these requirements is a condition of employment with EMERES.
