Senior Information Security Specialist

DzAani is a fast-growing startup connecting exceptional talent with innovative companies around the globe. We are currently hiring for a Senior Information Security Specialist to work with one of our valued clients, an industry leader in technology-powered services and innovative solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, global Information Security team, reporting directly to the Head of Information Security. In this role, you will lead and enhance the Security and Incident Response function in a rapidly expanding environment. This is a remote-optional position as part of our flexible workplace initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration:

Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and Information Security management to deliver key security projects and initiatives that align with business goals.

Security Incident Response:

Lead security incident response planning, participate in exercises, and act as a primary responder to identify, triage, and remediate security events, anomalies, and incidents.

Develop and Implement Security Procedures:

Design, implement, and maintain security operations, incident management procedures, and policies to continuously improve the organization’s security posture.

Proactive Security Improvements:

Collaborate with security and engineering teams to enhance security controls, improve systems, and mitigate risks to prevent future attacks.

Monitoring & Reporting:

Use monitoring platforms (e.g., Sumo Logic) to track and report security metrics, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Security Awareness Training:

Lead training programs for staff on information security standards, policies, and best practices.

Policy Development:

Develop, update, and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain security maturity.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

10+ years of relevant experience in Information Security, specifically in cloud-first environments.
At least 2 years of direct experience in incident response, threat and vulnerability management, or digital forensics.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) and Incident Detection/Response programs.
2+ years of experience in managing Enterprise Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions, such as AWS and GCP, and familiarity with cloud security tooling.
Experience leading security incident teams, including monitoring, detection, response, and threat-hunting across Enterprise and Product services.

Technical Expertise:

Experience working with Zero Trust Access solutions, WAF (Web Application Firewall), IAM solutions, and other security tools.
Hands-on experience deploying and operating Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)tools (e.g., Splunk, Sumo Logic, Datadog, Grafana).
Familiarity with Crowdstrike or similar security tooling in cloud environments.
Proficient in network and security technologies including VPN, firewalls, encryption, and endpoint protection.
Experience with Mitre ATT&CK Framework, threat modeling, and using it to design detection and defense mechanisms.
Ability to manage and resolve vendor, contract, and third-party escalations effectively.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to lead teams and projects, while maintaining a customer service-oriented mindset and a problem-solving attitude.
Ability to handle complex security incidents and provide strategic guidance to the organization during critical situations.

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, or similar are highly desirable.
Additional qualifications such as AWS Certifications, programming skills, experience with Kubernetes, or experience writing SDLC-related policies are a plus.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
