Job Summary/Basic Function

We’re looking for an innovative candidate to join our team in this newly created position as our Security Analyst! This role helps develop and administer the City’s corporate Security Program, including responsibilities for technology system requirements, security incident review, and associated statistical analysis and reporting. The Security Analyst will work on identifying security-related issues and risks and produces reporting that helps protect City staff, assets, facilities, and the public. This position will be working in a highly dynamic environment, and in close collaboration with partners and stakeholders. The Security Analyst will take on a critical role in understanding and measuring shared data and providing direction towards more effective decision-making and strategies.

The Security Analyst collects, assesses and reports security information related to City assets and operations. It supports development and administration of the City’s corporate Security Program, including responsibilities for video system requirements, security incident review and associated statistical analysis.

Duties

Qualifications

University degree in criminology, computer science, statistics, performance measurement or related field
Experience analyzing data and producing reports on a timely basis
Experience or understanding of security environments

BC Drivers Licence – Class 5
