In November 2020, Benecaid was acquired by Green Shield Benefits Association, a part of the Green Shield Canada (GSC) group of companies.

While Benecaid has an in-house software development team, our internal corporate IT function has been managed by a managed service provider. With the growth of the company and fast-changing business needs, we are embarking on a large IT modernization effort this year. With that, we are now looking to build up an in-house IT team with the creation of this position. This position will report directly to the VP Product & Technology.

Responsibilities

You will be:

Planning and executing on corporate IT enhancement and migration projects under the direction of the VP Technology and guidance of the Senior Architect.
Supporting our employees’ day to day IT needs and provide troubleshooting, communication, and training as needed.
Implementing and enforcing corporate IT & security policies to ensure we stay in compliance and perform at high standards.
Providing tier 1 tech support for our customers, being the bridge between customer service and development team.
You will primarily be working standard business hours. However, off hour work will be occasionally required in case of technical emergencies or scheduled work that will cause service outages and need to be performed outside of office hours.

Required Skills

· 2-4 years of IT administration experience, primarily in a Microsoft environment.

· Skilled in user endpoint hardware support: laptops and smartphones.

· Skilled in both on-premise and cloud environments: Azure & Office 365.

· Experience with setting up and administering web applications: database, web servers, SSL certificates, DNS, firewalls, etc.

· Familiarity with Linux systems is a major plus.

· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, especially with non-technical users.
