Our mission is to boost restaurant performance by providing data-driven, expert tools that deliver optimal beverage lists and delight customers with outstanding drink suggestions tailored to them and their meal.

We’re hiring a senior engineer to join our early stage and growing team. We’re looking for a jack-of-all-trades to work with our CTO to design and develop all aspects of our system. You will be responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining internal and user-facing tools and web applications, database structures, internal APIs, and integration with external APIs.

You: are curious and enjoy solving hard problems well. You pride yourself on writing good, clean code. You readily learn new technologies in order to find the best tools to get the job done. You love being part of a team, but work well independently.

Great communication skills are essential, especially because we are a mostly remote team. We use Slack, written documents, and video conferences, in addition to occasional in-person meetings, to keep everyone on the same page.

A love of, or at least curiosity about, food and drink, is a big plus.

Skills and Experience
A BS or higher degree and significant experience building and operating software

Backend:
Python
SQL database (MySQL, Postgres…)
REST API development and use

Frontend:
Javascript/TypeScript
React
CSS and modern CSS frameworks
Responsive design, mobile applications
Cloud platfiorms (AWS, Google Cloud or Heroku)

It’s a bonus if you have chops in any of the following:
Java, Lucene
NLP/text processing
Machine Learning
