What you'll do:

As a hands-on Software Architect you will work hand-in-hand with our co-founder and multiple development teams to help create a cohesive architecture and vision across our ecosystem. You will have opportunities to drive POCs as well as fleshing out and implementing key initiatives. Your experience and background will help guide software development best practices across the engineering organization supporting our efforts to work more efficiently while maintaining high quality. As your knowledge of the systems grows you will jump in to troubleshoot issues and unstick people. Our team uses an agile kanban development approach and is a fully remote team.

Responsibilities:

Develop high-quality software design and architecture
Collaboratively develop the technical architecture and roadmap
Mentoring
Review and debug code
Troubleshoot performance problems and other system issues
Collaborate across business, product, and systems team members
Help develop best practices in software and process

Requirements

Required:

Minimum 15 years professional software engineering experience or 10 years of professional software engineering experience and a degree in computer science
Minimum 5 years SQL and/or NoSQL (We use PostgreSQL and Firebase)
Minimum 2 years database design experience
Minimum 2 years as an architect
Minimum 2 years with cloud based architecture (AWS preferred)
Strong understanding of event messaging systems
Experience with, or the ability to quickly come up to speed with, Node and Python
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work asynchronously
Familiarity with agile kanban development process
Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude

Desired:

Experience with authentication protocols, auth0, and SSO
Experience with Site Reliability Engineering
Experience with remote development teams
Experience developing APIs
AWS cloud certifications

Benefits

Starting salary range is set at $170k - $195k

Salary range is based on years of experience, experience in industry, and relevant skill set.
