Job Purpose

Supports the strategy, goals, and objectives of the Company’s Security organization. May perform multiple, self-guided technical, and functional tasks. The Security organization develops policies, standards, and guidelines and provides services to mitigate cyber and physical risks to Company information, IT systems, electronic products, facilities, and physical assets. altafiber security works with the business to assess risk and to ensure appropriate security measures are implemented. altafiber security also enables business opportunities by leveraging security capabilities.

Essential Functions

(70%) Security Implementation and Cyber Operations - Operationalize documented compliance policies and deliver day-to-day security operations and support. Monitor security alarms and respond to protect altafiber assets, information, and services. Assist with the design, build, testing and deployment of SIEM alarms. Identify and mitigate potential risks not discovered by other means. Discovery, mitigation and management of known system vulnerabilities. Design creative solutions that use technologies and processes to mitigate cyber risks to altafiber information, IT systems, electronic products, facilities, and assets
(10%) Innovative Solutions - Design creative solutions that use technologies and processes to mitigate risks to information, systems, products, facilities, and assets
(10%) Risk Management - Identify and mitigate potential security risks
(5%) Compliance Management - Assess and facilitate the compliance of the organization with external regulatory requirements that relate to security
(5%) Policies and standards - Contribute to commercially acceptable policies and standards that mitigate risks to information, systems, products, facilities, and assets

Experience

1-3 years IT Security experience

Education

Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Relevant IT and/or Security certification(s) preferred (Security+, SSCP, etc.)

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess excellent communication and documentation skills
Team player
Self-guided and able to organize and prioritize
Technical knowledge (security and compliance) familiar with NIST or ISO, PCI, HIPAA security standards
IT Security Audit experience
