About the Role:

The primary responsibilities of AGF’s Security Architect are designing, building, testing, implementing, and overseeing AGF’s security systems and controls. The Security Architect will have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and be current with the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols.

The Security Architect will have experience with data and network security processes and solutions—both on premise and in the cloud—and ensure peers are fully versed in data and network security issues through knowledge sharing and regular presentations.

The security architect will collaborate with other teams to support and implement security projects and controls. The security architect is also responsible for the oversight network security devices. They will work with our IT/Security vendors to ensure the effective management of our networks, systems, and applications.

Persuasive communication skills are required for this leadership role; especially the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

Your Responsibilities:

Drive AGF’s security architecture strategy and cybersecurity program
Provide technical leadership and oversight of AGF’s networks and data assets
Collaborate with business and technology peers to understand business goals, use cases for data access, storage, network security, application security and related applications and tools
Serve as a security subject matter expert during discussions and meetings with key business and IT stakeholders
Appropriately inform and advise senior management regarding incident prevention and response
Initiate escalation procedures to counteract potential threats/vulnerabilities
Lead network security incident investigations
Review current system security measures and recommend and implement enhancements
Conduct regular network security system tests
Ensure authorized access to AGF’s IT systems and resources
Work with the CISO to establish business continuity procedures for IT/cybersecurity incidents and conduct cybersecurity simulation exercises as required
Oversee AGF’s vulnerability management program and providing audit and compliance reports to management as required
Work with IT/security vendors to ensure all systems and network security monitoring comply with our security standards
Document and create reports related to security initiatives
Participate and assist with IT security audits
Audit firewall rules to ensure currency and compliance
Remain up to date with the latest security systems, standards, and products
Mentor peers within the IT and Security Operations teams
Backfill for the CISO as required

Your Requirements:

10+ years of experience in cross-security-related domains (preferable network and data security with cloud)
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, techniques, technologies, and controls
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and to adapt to changing priorities
Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies, protocols, and standards
Experience in Security Design Reviews and/or Architecture Risk Analysis
Solid understanding of security-enabling technologies across the development lifecycle
Strong knowledge and experience with Palo Alto Networks solutions
Expertise with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
Strong experience analyzing data outputs from network security systems
Knowledge of and experience working with data privacy regulations
Security certifications such as CISSP are a plus
Experience in financial services is also a plus
