Job Summary
As a Cybersecurity Developer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing security measures to protect an organization's software applications, systems, and networks from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. You will work closely with software development teams to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Your Key Responsibilities
Conduct security assessments and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in applications and systems.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure security is built into software and application design, development, and deployment processes.
Threat Modeling: Create threat models to identify potential security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Penetration Testing: Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to discover and address weaknesses in applications and infrastructure.
Security Tools: Utilize various security tools and technologies to monitor and protect systems, such as intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), firewalls, and encryption tools.
Incident Response: Assist in developing and implementing incident response plans and procedures to handle security incidents and breaches effectively.
Security Policies: Develop and enforce security policies and standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Security Training: Provide training and guidance to developers and IT staff on security best practices and emerging threats.
Continuous Monitoring: Implement security monitoring and logging solutions to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
Security Research: Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to proactively adapt security measures.
Qualifications And Certifications Required
i) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ii) Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or CompTIA Security+.
iii) Strong understanding of software development and programming languages, as well as web application and network security principles.
iv) Proficiency with security assessment tools and methodologies.
v) Knowledge of security frameworks and regulations, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
vi) Experience with secure coding practices and secure software development methodologies.
vii) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
viii) Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Skills
i) Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and SIEM solutions.
ii) Programming skills (e.g., Java, Python, C++) for reviewing and improving code security.
iii) Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integration of security into the CI/CD pipeline.
iv) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
v) Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
vi) Ethical hacking and penetration testing skills.
vii) Risk assessment and management capabilities.
viii) Incident response and crisis management expertise.
